Privacy Policy

This policy describes the information collected during a visit, why it is used, and the limited circumstances in which another service may receive it. By continuing to use Crittenden County Criminal History, you agree to these practices.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A name or place entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside company operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its response; this site does not keep or log the terms entered.

Messages and Contact Submissions

An email may be retained long enough to answer and maintain the related correspondence. It is not disclosed beyond the people responsible for the site unless the law requires disclosure.

Data We Gather Automatically

Loading a page can cause the server to receive ordinary technical and usage details, including:

  • Page-view dates, times, and visit duration
  • Device category and operating system
  • The referring website, when one is supplied
  • Browser name and version
  • Pages opened during the visit
  • The device's assigned IP address

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small files that help measure traffic patterns, such as frequently viewed pages and common exit points. Analytics providers combine this information into usage reports. A browser can reject cookies, although disabling them may change how certain features behave.

What We Do With This Data

  • Diagnosing errors and performance problems
  • Routing a submitted query to the selected search partner
  • Operating the site and improving load performance
  • Measuring which resources visitors use
  • Displaying advertising that may reflect inferred interests

No Criminal-Record Data on File

Crittenden County Criminal History does not own, compile, or sell a database of individual criminal records. Its published material explains how to approach the Crittenden County Sheriff, circuit clerk, Kentucky State Police repository, and Kentucky State Police Sex Offender Registry. Visitor information is not assembled into a third-party dossier or consumer report, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Third-Party Search Partners

Independent companies supply the site's search boxes. A query submitted there is governed by that provider's privacy policy and retention rules, which this site does not control. Review the applicable outside policy before sending information.

Links to Other Websites

Links may lead to the sheriff, Kentucky courts, state agencies, legal resources, or commercial tools. Once a visitor follows an outside link, the destination's own policy applies. Read that policy before providing personal details.

Advertising companies may use their systems to recognize activity across websites and select targeted ads. Their tracking practices are separate from ours.

Who Might See Your Data

Personal data is not sold. Limited information may nevertheless be available to:

  • Analytics vendors measuring traffic and performance
  • A search provider receiving a query you choose to submit
  • Advertising networks serving material on the pages
  • A government or law-enforcement body acting under a valid legal order

How We Protect Your Data

Reasonable, standard safeguards are used for collected data. No internet service can guarantee perfect security, however, so a breach cannot be ruled out.

Users Under 18

The service is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If such information is identified, it will be removed.

Your Data Rights

Rights can vary by residence. Kentucky's Consumer Protection Act, KRS 367.110–367.300, and other applicable privacy law may affect a particular request. Regardless, you may:

  • Request deletion of personal data we retain
  • Ask what personal information is held about you
